Sex Ed for Parents: How to open up the conversation at home with your 7 – 12 year-olds

“When should I talk with my child about…you know…”

This is a common question – probably the most common question – that I get asked.  And now I have developed a class to answer this question for you!  Here are the details:

Class name: Sex Ed for Parents: How to open up the conversation at home with your 7 – 12 year-olds

Description: Dr. Karen Rayne (www.karenrayne.com) is a national speaker on facilitating family conversation on sex and sexuality.  Karen is presenting a two-session workshop in June for parents on how to effectively start and maintain communication about sex and sexuality in a family with middle and older children.  The workshop will cover a wide range of issues, including sexual intercourse, puberty, reproduction, gender, sexual orientation, and anything else you have questions about.  Special attention will be paid to how to talk about these topics in age-appropriate ways.

Dates/Times: This is a two-part class.  I will have two classes this summer:

  • Sunday June 12th and Sunday June 26th from 4 – 5:30pm in South Austin/Dripping Springs
  • Saturday June 11 from 1:30 – 3 and Sunday June 19th from 3:30 – 5 in Central Austin

Cost: $35/individual, $60/couple, minimum of 10 participants

You may read a few of my client recommendations if you are curious how I have helped support other families with this difficult topic.

You can register for the class by e-mailing me (karen.rayne@gmail.com).  You can also e-mail me with questions or leave the questions below in the comment section and I will answer them here.

Please forward this class information to any list or individual you think might be interested and benefit!

I hope to see you in class soon!
