Alice (and Ruth) I disagree. Plenty of couples choose not to use condoms. It's a valid choice. It's completely unrealistic to expect everyone to use condoms. I understand wanting teenagers to use condoms for STI prevention, and I certainly think that women shouldn't be bullied into condomless sex by male partners, but COUPLES can make the informed choice to have sex without condoms. Hormonal birth control is designed to be effective against pregnancy all on its own.

Anyway, ugh, I looked at Body Scoop for Girls for a bit and hated it as well.

seeing a gynecologist regularly - complete with stirrups, speculum, and regular pelvic exams.”

Well, I wonder what she would say about people in the UK, for example, who pretty much NEVER get pelvic exams (it's not a normal part of healthcare there) and don't routinely see gynecologists? (They get pap tests, done by nurses or GPs, no gynecologists, and that's it: no pelvic exams.) Are they not adults?

I find it really sickening that a gynecologist is framing GYN care as a punishment for sex, too.

I still think Inga Muscio said it best. "Men who refuse to use condoms do not deserve to be fucked by anyone but other men who refuse to use condoms."
