Great article Nicole. Cannot begin to tell you how proud of you we are.
Just wish more teenagers had the insight to understand this very important and mostly ignored part of growing up. Love you too much.

My daughter went through the OWL a couple of months ago at our local UU church. I am very pleased with the program. It was taught by to highly educated people & UU training, big plus! My daughter didn’t feel funny about her self or anyone. Everything was taught on her level. Then afterwards she had a class at her local public school about sex ed. She didn’t understand why they were so stand offish… She came home and told me everything they didn’t talk about and what they should have said… OWL is a great asset for her.
I am thankful for the SEAT & OWL! Great job everyone & the UU High Street teachers in Macon Georgia!

Thank you, Nicole, for your articulate account of your experience with SEAT. Even though I am a 7-9th grade OWL teacher at my UU Fellowship in Lafayette, CO, I hadn’t heard of the SEAT program, and I will pass along your blog to my OWL parents, and encourage them to share your blog with their teens as well. It is my hope that, with Obama in the White House, truly comprehensive sexuality education that we know from OWL will become a part of every child’s education in our public schools. Thanks for taking this on and raising my awareness about SEAT!
