If comprehensive sexuality education is finally gaining wider acceptance, it is in no small part due to the tireless efforts of educators and advocates such as yourself. As a parent, I thank you for your work.

Great entry today, Karen! You got me thinking about some parents who think their middle school student doesn't think about sex yet. I had a sobering experience on day one of OWL. I asked the kids what concerns they had about the class if they were afraid that they wouldn't know something that they should. One brave student replied that they were afraid of just the opposite - that they knew something that they shouldn't. Another reminder of why this is important.

I am glad that you have devoted your career to this, Karen. You're awesome for it.

Fantastic piece today, Karen. I'm forwarding the link to this post to all upper elementary and middle school teachers at Amelia's school (as well as the PTA folks, parents and administrators). They do a decent job as it is, but I want them all to see this post of yours. Blessings to you for all the good work you do!
