How to talk with…your parents…about sex

I am delighted to let everyone know that Scarleteen.com recently published a piece I wrote for teenagers called About That “Talk” with Your Parents….  You and your teenagers should all read it.

The highlights include:

  • Your parents probably want to talk with you about sex too, and they just can’t find the words to start the conversation!

  • Talking with your parents about puberty, sex, and sexuality is different from talking with your parents about your sex life.  (Or: How to ask your parent for birth control)

  • Here’s the most important thing to remember about parents: They usually want you to be the happiest, healthiest person you can possibly be.

  • But…Your parents might not always be the best adult for you to talk with.

Now go read the details!

Fantabulous fun!  And while you’re over at Scarleteen marveling at my fabulous advice, take a look around.  It’s a great site with deep, honest answers for teenagers about sex and sexuality.  And they are having a fundraiser right now with a matching donor up to $350/donation and/or up to $3000 total through March 15 – so go donate!  It’s for an amazing cause.
