Adolescent Sexuality by Dr. Karen Rayne

This blog is an on-going conversation about adolescent sexuality, and all of the nuances and social issues inherent to the topic. I believe…that parents have to talk to their kids about sex…that everyone has sex, and should therefore know about sex…that sex is not all bad, even for teenagers. Back from SXSW - and wiped!

Wow! I must say, I did not think that SXSW would be what it was. Thanks so much to Wendy for taking the reigns while I was away!

SXSW was:

First: an amazing networking experience. I think my favorite online-sex-blogger connection was with Lux Alptraum. Lux writes Boinkology - a blog all about the science of sex. I highly recommend you check it out.

Second: included some amazing new friends. We danced the night away (or at least closed down the bars) three nights in a row!

Third: taught some lovely little insights into the sordid underworld of sex, blogging, and gossip. I must say, I did not expect this geeky-world to be so full of intrigue and drama.

Needless to say, I had a blast! More later in the week - after I begin to recover five nights of lost sleep!

Awww… I’m so happy to hear that!

It was great meeting you too. I’m still in Austin (flying out later today), but I’ll be sure to be in touch when I’m back in New York.

  2. Alice Says:

Your old friends are happy to have you back. :)

  3. Wendy Harlowe Says:

Karen, it is true; your old friends are glad to have you back. I enjoyed writing the posts tremendously, enjoyed the comments/conversations tremendously, and am really looking forward to more posts from you. Also, expect some response to the new study out today on the fact that over 25% of teenaged girls have some form of STD. Yet another example of the patent failure of the abstinence-only sex education our government has foisted upon us. Rest up!

Thanks Lux, Alice, and Wendy! No worries, Wendy, that post is coming tomorrow!
